Hi, since I have absolutely no time and this stuff is lying around here gathering dust I figured it could be more useful to somebody else. I'm not sure what they're still worth, I just know it cost me a few hundreds of dollars just for shipping (Europe sucks!) since the parts are very hard to get in ...

What part of the RGB mod is giving you trouble? The Retro Duo uses a CXA1645, right? You can share the sync signal with the encoder. ie: pull it off of the input pin on the '1645. Also, the capacitors your using should be 220µ. And if that Zenith screen is the same as a PSOne lcd (which I think it ...

It wasn't right after fully loading them I think, but I was just trying to see how long it would power the console. did this happen when simply soldering the wires on? like, it wasn't hooked up to the charger yet?

Ah, that's good. The power plug I put on today is pretty nice too.
