Can't say much as I haven't modded a PS, but I can tell you about the batteries. The laptop batteries are probably lithium ion, and you can use them. However, you will probably need to buy a protection circuit, unless the old one can be reused.
**Never run a lithium ion battery without the ...

Re: VGA output via fpga
After installing this board, how do I access the audio?
Well, this board only changes the video from 15khz RGB to VGA. It doesn't handle (as far as I know) audio. You would still take it from the same spot you always have; but taking the video from the FPGA instead.

Re: First Portable N64
Decided to continue with something easier, chopping the bottom part. I removed it more or less until where U8 starts. I also removed U8 and the controller fuses, as those were in the discarded side. After reconnecting a pair of broken traces I covered everything in hot glue and tested. Still works ...

First Portable N64
Well, I am doing my first portable N64. I'm going to try to be ambitious and make this as small as humanly possible. I haven't made much progress, just disassembly and stuff. I still haven't gotten a screen yet, but I already started chopping the board.

Re: Nintendo 64 Schematic
Sorry, got the ic number mixed up. U8 is for the player controls. Its U3 what I'm struggling with. Its a sot-23-5, pins 1-3 to ground, pin 5 to +3.3v, and pin 4 to pin 8 of the Pif-nus.

Re: Nintendo 64 Schematic
If any mod sees this, delete this thread. After I edited the post above, the whole thread dissapeared from the forum (probably since the first post´s edit was waiting for approval) and I created another one without thinking why it disapeared. Id like to focus anything on the other thread.

Nintendo 64 Schematic
Has anyone ever made (and released) a N64 schematic (either full or partial)? I know kibble did some PCB re-engineering (although he went dead again), and I have read the posts made by Ozone and stuntpenguin007
