No it's real that's why all the guts are in the case. To use a laptop LCD you just have to have the appropriate controller board, it's not impossible. Also he could have put a separate standalone monitor in.

Pretty cool. Amazing that no one here has seen it before, at least not to my knowledge, since it's not on the completed projects page. I've got two craptops that look just like that. One of them we don't really need so I think I might be ...

Yes I would like to feel the pain of getting shot. Dialed down considerably of course. And not just getting shot, feeling everything else in the environment. You don't think "X" or "plant C4 on power line." The cap, or any other device is FAR too primitive to detect that you are thinking about doing ...

What are some good projects to sell?

I know a PS3 or 360 laptop will bring in the most money, which makes sense because they require the most work. But what else? How about an Xbox Mini (original Xbox slimmed by removing optical drive and replacing desktop harddrive with a laptop drive)? I would include a port for plugging in the ...

Re: If you could do one thing, and then another thing...

1) If you could do, have, see, etc. any one thing within the known laws of our universe (ie. no anti-gravity, faster-than-light travel, etc.), what would it be?

Faster than light travel IS possible, see here: http://www.sci-tech-today.com/story.xhtml?story_title=Quantum_ComSat_May_Send_Mail_Faster ...

I keep up with this area of science because I think of it as an example of technology retroactively making myths like telepathy real. Once it is perfect, however long that takes, it will naturally be the only input method. Imagine going through life, pressing X to enter vehicle, A to jump, analog ...

Well, you don't need surgery... I was just giving some background info on the technology. Mainly I was talking about Emotiv's device that releases next year. Maybe my post was too optimistic. I know at first it will be hard to adjust to. You have to train your thoughts in a completely new way. You ...

Those all suck... the way to do it is not to replace the fingers with horribly inept body parts like the tongue or feet, but to completely bypass physical manipulation. Brainwaves (thoughts) being translated directly into digital reactions is the key. Basically, you need special hardware to ...
