That's what I'm hoping. It'd be a waste to stick one drive in a videotape, unless I was using it as an enclosure.

Flash drive spanning?

Any way to get my computer to recognize, say, four flash drives plugged into a hub as one combined drive? Need it for a, ahem, project... (I'm using XP, but I'll probably upgrade to Win7 later.)

Re: Atari on a chip!

The only problem might be finding one; you may have to order one online. (Personally I haven't seen them in the stores in quite a while.)

I'm pretty sure they popped back up in Target last Christmas, so you might want to give that a shot (for $20, of course)... assuming you can wait four or five ...

Re: The Atari 2600 Shell Build - Big Screens (watch out 56k)

Guh, there's no way you could resize those? Stupid sexy BBcode.

Actually, I'm thinking of doing something with a 2600 Jr. I picked up with a broken case... which reminds me, I call dibs on "AtarWii". :)

So, uh, can you scan something for me?

Just picked up a copy of The Guardian Legend from Play-n-Trade a couple of weeks ago, and this was my reaction:

Only one problem: there's no label. So once I clean it off, can someone scan their copy so I can print up a label ...

Which is exactly why I didn't want to do it that way. I want chapter breaks and purty menus and all that nonsense. (Hey, I just got sacked, I've got plenty of time. )

Hooking up Pinnacle Video Transfer direct to PC?

I have one of these beauties, an SVHS VCR, and 500GB external hard drive sitting on a desk. As you can see, it records to anything that you can hook up via USB 2.0. I also have eight boxes of VHS tapes I'm looking to convert to DVD. While many of the tapes aren't a full two hours or 2:40, I don't ...

Cheap LCD, old computer, QBasic or other programming language. Yeah, something along those line.

Well, the question was how small you could make it, not how easy it would be to make a Space Invaders cocktail cabinet.

Find a screen the same size as the opening, get a plug and play, and it ...

Another vote for iPod shell. Bonus points if the navigation controls are hacked to be the controller for the SJ3 and you have the screen where the iPod's was.

If it would work, wouldn't the 3G be a slightly better fit? Stick buttons under the four directions on the scroll wheel, then map the ...

Nice bank, but...

So I take it we've all seen this?

Space Invaders Tabletop Arcade Cabinet Piggy Bank

Sadly, it's not fully functional; whenever you pop in a 100 yen coin, it lights up an invader. But how small do you think someone could make a fully-functioning table? Practical? No. But friggin' badass ? I'd ...

Dropping voltage?

I'd love to build one of these, but I have a bit of a problem before I start. The charger I grabbed runs at 5.7v. How do I drop that down to an even 5v in that tiny of a form factor? (My charger's about the same size as the one in the Instructable.)

I think the outer ring actually works as a D-pad, so you can just use that and maybe immobilize the joy...thing.

iPod strapped to big-ass HD?

I'm planning on fixing my 4G iPod (U2 edition, no less) with a CF card and adapter. But it got me thinking... because HD-based iPods use standard IDE drives (thus, the CF compatibility), what's stopping someone from wiring up an adapter and attaching the guts to a HUGE hard drive? If you could power ...

Open up the controllers and see if theres any IC the sends signals down the cable. I seriously doubt that there is one and its probably like a 2600 controller where it just pulls the signal to ground.

Problem is, as you can see, there's 10 possible buttons and only nine pins on the connector. How ...
