The black wire in this pic is ground. Make sure you have it, that's what tying the grounds together means.

I just tried the 7805 to the 5V located in the sticky you directed me to, but It didnt seem to help. Now when it says to be sure to tie the N64's ground to the screens ground, I'm not exactly sure what that means. right i figured it out in the end so it doesnt matter anymore. but at some points the picture looks like smeared and distorted anyone know what would cause this?
