Anyway... On a less crazy note, good luck. But don't try running your n64 off 10 car batteries linked in series. It will make a nastly smell, and a cool blue fire!
Man if I had a nickel for every time thats happened to me....

No, I left them connected to the ribbon cable so i could use their headphones. Could this make a difference in the video?

Update: Figured out what the problem was. After testing the N64 with its AV cable, it worked. So the problem is obviously the screen. I'm purchasing a replacement ASAP. Then all I have to do is finish making my case and It'll be completed. Expect more progress in about a week or two.

The black wire in this pic is ground. Make sure you have it, that's what tying the grounds together means.

I just tried the 7805 to the 5V located in the sticky you directed me to, but It didnt seem to help. Now when it says to be sure to tie the N64's ground to the screens ground, I'm not exactly sure what that means. Could someone be kind enough to elaborate?

GP64 Progress thread

Well, I embarked on this project a while back, and hoped to post it up here after I completed it, but unfortunately I've encountered some problems. I did all the soldering last night, and it all seemed alright. Both the screen and the N64 power on as they should, but there is no audio or video ...

Lets get back on topic. I'll start (doesn't this feel like gossip corner now? lol). Marshallh made one awesome ...

That guide is mostly the electronic stuff, I didn't make a case section because other than a lack of time, I'm not the best at cases :P You can find vacuum-forming (the method used to make the L64 case) on some websites. I think there's some links on portablesofdoom.org. I did N64 as my first ...

right i figured it out in the end so it doesnt matter anymore. but at some points the picture looks like smeared and distorted anyone know what would cause this? Because it's an RF Unit, and most likely an old one. Old RF units usually cause distortion and smearing, so I recommend you get a new RF ...
