Even more Sexy stuff from VIA !!

Check this out, Via are going mad with releasing small form factor motherboards. If only they would start selling them !

They have popped the Eden-Nano and the CN400 chipset in a nice aluminium package - very cool, or should I say hot.

22 views and no one has anything to say. I take the hint, this was a design step too far. Please someone tell me that they understood what I was talking about, I hope someone could see where I was going with this.
I guess I got too excited about the Radica, just didn't like the Idea of the big old ...

What about the mastersystem that's 8bit.

I just feel forum 42 is getting a little too big, some posts just get lost, but as I am new here, what do I know ?.

I'm not sure about the US but here in the UK SEGA systems were a big part of game life, much bigger than the NES/SNES, don't get me wrong, I ...

Radica Cartridge Idea

Hi, Sorry if this has already been talked about, I have been reading up about the Radica and didn't find anything ike this yet...

I have a few weeks to kill until my Handheld PC's PCB's arrive from the manufacturer so I decided to get a Raddica to hack up while I wait.

I got the thing open and was ...

Why don't we have a SEGA Forum ?

Forum 42 is getting very full, It's just taken me ages to read stuff about the Radica, and I'm only just started.

It would be nice to have a Sega / (Genesis, SMS, GG) forum

I'm not sure who can make it happen ?

Cheers,

Gannon,

Did u hit refresh ? This model has no heatsink in the picture (Although it will have a big one when they get to production) This is a new Nano-itx, not the same as the one in the mac-mini case a few weeks back. This one is the Epia NL not the Epia N.

Anyway it's going to take Via ages to ...

Very Sexy NEW Nano-ITX Motherboards from VIA... EPIA NL

I really wish Via would get these things out, If I had one of these 3 months ago It would have given me so much less pain that my current solution  .
Via have just released a few new Nano-ITX Motherboards, designed for manufacturers, they just have really nice 0.1" and smaller pitch connectors ...

I'm currently building a hand held PC, based on a Via chipset, it should have enough grunt to run most of the 8-16bit emulators, and MAME.
The Via Eden 1Ghz processor and Twister chipset kicks out 7-10W of power when it's being thrashed, so if you add a 2.5" hard drive and power supply components ...

Hi,

For me a PC based design has been a ideal hand held for some time, My main driving forces are all the emulators you can get for the PC, and most of them run on a resonable spec, I am really looking forward to running old Amiga games on a hand held for example.
I am also trying to make this into ...

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the feedback, I decided to remove the VMU connector and chop out the pcb area in the middle where the VMU connector is. This gives me two nice PCB's I can position either side of my LCD screen.

I will try to work out how to get pictures onto this forum so I can show you all the ...

Anyone opened up an official Dreamcast controller ?

Hi,

Has anoyne out there opened up an official dreamcast controller, I have one sat on my desk and I'm trying to figure out where best to cut it in half.

Has anyone used the Hall effect sensors off the PCB ? I am planning to run them to the top on a few wires.
I really like these controllers as ...

Hi Sam,

The 7" screen is quite expensive here in the UK, I got mine from here -
http://linitx.com/product_info.php?cPath=64&products_id=553

This screen is £148 ($273 US) although you can get them for £118 without the touchscreen. This sound expensive, but remember this is a VGA based screen not ...

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback, it's great to talk to others about this stuff, I am working on another remote handheld based on the netplay controller again, but this time I am trying to make the wireless controller work with the Gamecube, Dreamcast and PS2, it's also got a 7" screen this time.
I ...

First Post, Some new Ideas and a quick intro

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post, I have been looking at the furum for a few months now and have been very interested in the numbers of people re-designing production systems into portables. I started hacking up electronics many years ago, I now work as an electronics engineer and have just ...
