I used a plug from Radio Shack that let me plug RCA cables into the AV plug and it worked fine stand-alone. There was nothing plugged in but the power and the video cables.

Ok, tried it out with my Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube and portable media center but no luck. Don't have a VCR. I still have to get a psone but I was holding out until the end of the month but guess I have to get one now. I'll just let the ebay seller know of my situation. Thanks anyways guys.

hmmm.....

Wish I had a psone system to make sure. I have the official sony brand lcd if that makes any difference compared to the third party ones.
