you're right, they are. the connector to the screen in my version clearly has colored wires and yours does not. lucky for you, my original post has the wires listed IN ORDER so (assuming we have the same screen controller, which is somewhat doubtful) you can just follow the wire order and reverse ...

i actually rebuilt the contrast/color/etc board but from what i remember, when i disconnected it, it looked pretty good by default.
the 7808 does not connect to the screen at all, its only for the audio amp

umm yeah i dropped the second button on the floor and then my cat ran off with it i think. i replaced it with a yellow button for now. i didnt really want a cartridge slot because i dont actually own any of my old games, they're all back at my parents' and even then i might have given them away but ...
