cart not working...

I spent 3 hours soldering the cart onto the Radica and I turned it on and there was a black screen. I looked at segasonic's cart connection picture and saw a black wire coming NOT from the place where the rom chip was. What is this for??

Hmm, i don't know what that is, but thanks anyways. I just discovered that using a desoldering pump to get most of the solder out and using tiny tweezers to remove the trace works perfect.

Removing cart from game genie

Has anybody actually successfully remove the cart from the game genie, I'm doing that now and it's hard cause there is a little bit of solder left between the contract and leads that the soldering pump can't take out.

I take that back, the chip is NOT GLUED onto the board, i just needed to cut more from the traces. Just below the chip is a white film.

removing the rom chip yet again

I did segasonic's fan method and was wondering how he removed the chip after he made the two cuts. The chip is GLUED onto the board. I did a search and it seems some ppl don't bother to remove it, some ppl removed it by prying it and some ppl dont even have to pry it to remove it.

I see. Well, my attempt fail even after i sand down the paint to reveal the metal. I hook up my tact button to the gloptop board and soldered the colored wires that came oringinally from the gloptop board to the radica. I turned on the radica and i had visual and audio but the tact button failed ...
