I found a possible replacement for the missing IC chip , assuming the supplier has one in stock / willing to sell one.
I'm trying to identify the other five components on the entire thing that are missing from the other two that are complete. I can make out the two capacitors.
Is that a 56k ...

Re: Soldering troubles
What size wire are you using?
I would suggest using the thinnest possible solder you can buy, with the pointiest tip iron tip you can buy.
I discovered that I can not solder when I've consumed a large amount of caffeine. I don't shake, but I just seem careless and not as focused.

Odd treamcast VMU plug port problem.
Here is what I'm working with . These are plugs taken from Treamcast items (knock off dreamcast mouse & light gun specifically).
One of the three works.
I need three functional ones for my project to work.
The one that works is from an SRC bio gun (wired). It is still connected to the gun.

Question about ben's solid-state switcher and bus chips!
I was giving Ben's guide on making a solid state switcher a read for a project. I have a few questions that I would love to get answered!
In his guide, with the chips he suggested using, it is possible to get 8 points for input to output. Is it possible to line more than one of these chips to give ...

LED # in dreamcast?
Hi guys! Random question about the number of possible leds I can stuff in a dreamcast. I know of the ground, 3.3, 5, and 12 volt points on the power board, and I have a nice pile of 5mm leds, each with a built in resistor. What's the best way to wire these up? Would connecting each to the 5v and ...

LCD screen help (rearranging vmu placement)?
Hi! I had a wonderfully delightful idea regarding the dreamcast VMU. For this to work, I need to
rearrange" the display LCD screen from the vmu to another location (away from the rest of the VMU chip).
I can't seem to find much info on anything similar to this being done before. I'm not really ...

How to make a professional looking controller port mold?
I've been putting this thing together for a while now. Here and here are two shots of a dreamcast expansion unit I've been putting together, that supplies the controller cords to the main system. Ignore the dust, as I'm a time-short individual and finding the time to work on my projects such as this ...

Re: SNES multi-cart selector, is this possible?
Thats a pretty cool idea! I appologize in advance for the comming slew of questions;
I can see that with the IC I'll have to connect enable a+b, is that for each IC chip that I use for this setup? (as in one wire to rule them all? )
I'll have to line 8x of those chips up to accommodating ...

My for trade / sale / search for list (games & hardware)
Linked in my signature. I'm a huge sega fanboy, and a hardware dork ( I value hardware more than games ).
I would prefer to do trades, as that means I can cross something off my desire list as I cross something off my items-not-in-use list.

wireless keyboard hack, is this possible?
I'm not sure if this is the right place, but it seems more appropriate here than the dreamcast forum.

SNES multi-cart selector, is this possible?
Hi! I'm building an arcade box with a few games permanently built in. Seven (7!) of these games are on the snes, and my first idea was to use seven snes mini consoles (a very expensive and space-consuming idea), but then I found this;

xbox to dreamcast wireless controller problem (power drain?)
I've been fiddling with making the perfect wireless dreamcast controller. My current setup is a total control adapter and an xbox-to-ps2 adapter, with the popular Logitech wireless controller.
It works, very very well. It works so smoothly, that this controller has become my favored dreamcast ...

Re: Dreamcast freezes at the startup screen
You purchased two from the US, and four that are not from the US?
Dreamcast systems from different regions run off of different power ratings. You will need a down or up converter depending on what region of system you are using, and where you are using it.

Re: (first post, hi!) Help with a failed controller hack (sorta)
The supplied voltage was already a given - my project is to have some consoles that don't supply the needed 5 volts to their own respective controllers. I think as long as the grounds are kept the same it should work.
Fun time, shall post some results, or the brick-edness, of this adapter soon!~

Re: (first post, hi!) Help with a failed controller hack (sorta)
Wow! I'm rather shocked that a spur-of-the-moment theory like that actually had any value to it.
Here is a better picture of the front (saturn goes in to the top), and a shot of the back (again saturn port is at the top).
The chips being in will affect your readings inside the adapter, as the ...
