Yes to have an on button you would just short the brown and the red wire, when their no longer shorted the motherboard turns off, so a two way switch would work fine.
If you want to have a reset button, you just short the yellow and orange wires for a moment, and the motherboard restarts.

Re: Construct Power/Reset buttons
If you have the original power/reset switch board, you can always just trace the circuit and se which cables goes to which switch (extremely simple on this board), then just de solder the wires that goest to the plug and then put on your own buttons and light.

Re: The super awesome HTPC in a NES project
I have gotten most of my parts now, only need a PSU which is on the way in the post now, and a dremel for the case, and some small parts to finalize it.
Also the raphnet chip should be here soon, hopefully tomorrow or any day really soon.
Just thought I'd update so no one thought I had wimped out

Open source PSJailbreak on cheep USB Development Boards
Poor, poor Sony. First PSJailbreak splayed wide the PS3's security model, now PSGroove has arrived calling itself the "open source PSjailbreak." The code must first be downloaded and installed onto a $30ish AT90USBkey or a $25ish Teensy++ USB development board. After that, homebrew enthusiasts can ...

Re: The super awesome HTPC in a NES project
Wow, this is going to be one awesome Nes HTPC.
I think you should use Bluetooth keyboards to control it. The one I'd recommend is the Logitech diNovo because it was meant for htpcs. Unfortunately, it going to cost around $100-$130.

I'm also doing this project. I'm ordering parts soon, all ready gutted out my NES and cut and re-soldered the board with the power switch and light. Gonna fit an ION 2 Mini-ITX mobo and maybe a Blu-ray player in there (at least something that can burn DVD's). Borrowing my friends dremel soon, cant ...

USB controller ports on a NES
I know there are chips that convert the NES controller to USB HID`s, are there anyway to easily reverse the process inside the NES? I`m supposed to do a casemod for a friend, and I would like to hook him up with USB nes controllers he can use on his PC, but also on his NES?
