hmmm...well, I know that when you charge batteries, they go up for a little while (usually on NiMh, it's .1V, and on li-poly, it's as high as .6V, I believe).

What kind of battery is it? If it's Nimh (which it most likely isn't...an 8.4V NiMh pack has 7 cells, meaning .7 extra would only make it 9 ...

Small battery question

I have finally ordered my 8.4V battery and it came a few days ago.I decided to charge it but not all the way. When I checked the voltage it was 9.5-9.6V. Now I'm too afraid to hook it up to the psone screen because it will most likely fry it. Please can anyone help me?

It could also be faulty cartridge slot wiring. If two wires were barely shorted or something, it could mess up the signals. Triple check all of that on the top and bottom of slot and slot socket.

Well I redid the whole thing today to see if that was the problem..turned out it wasn't. I think my ...

I think it is 7.5V because that's how much the psone wall adapter outputs

umm. it could just be the angle, but it looks like your dc-dc is wired up totally wrong. ... could you give us another angle, or, even better, a paint drawing of how its all wired

(ive been staring at it some more, and its starting to make more sense... maybe its not wrong)

Well I used Skyone's ...

also, are you trying to run the system AND the screen off the psone adapteR?

currently I am running only the n64 off the psone adapter. So it is tested on the TV. The reason I didn't connect it to the psone screen yet was because I wanted to make sure it would work before I hooked it up to a ...

joevennix: I think it just might be the dc-dc converter. I checked it with a multimeter and I got 3.0V. I thought this was quite strange. Did I wire it up wrong? If so what did I do wrong?

Sorry about that I guess I didn't go into enough detail.

-it was originally hooked up to the n64 adapter
-I made it so that it would run off a psone wall jack and a dc-dc converter (the one on the free dc dc converters thread).
-when it was running off the n64 adapter it was fine but when i hooked ...
