1) 7.5v Would be supply voltage..
2) CMD You sure this isn't GND? Could be Motor signalling too..
3) VDD Yup, it's Ground too
4) ACK Acknowledge. If PS1 sends a signal, this pin turns high, to signal that the controller has heard the PS1. Sort of 2 fold Enable handshake
5) CLK Clockline (sync's up ...

You could try

BUT!

WHen batteries are fully charged they might exceed 1.5 v per cell..

so your 7.5 v might suddenly be 9.2 v. This happened to me..

It made me change my powersupply design to incorporate a zener to clamp the voltage to 7.4ish volts.

Note though that if you do this, you sacrifice ...

Solder off the analog sticks, and check if the controller still workd (d-pad wise)

if it still works (doesn't move left all the time (or right)):
save the circuit board and chip on it. Map the pins of the chip to the buttons.

Make it a mini circuit with one side to the connector cable, and a row ...

point blank :D

I'm tempted to put a cinch Video out on the ol' portable, just to be able to play the games once more. Although the concept of portable would be a little stretched.

Imagine, your'e in a bus, booting up time crisis, puttng the portable in your lap, and then aiming a plasticky gun at ...

Concerning 8 pin controllers; Are you using a controller which doesn't have analog sticks?

I noticed that the ones without analog miss a pin.

Maybe this helps.

It would need a DPDT (Double pull, Double Throw) switch.

Or, to grip the idea better..

DPDT Switch Schematical representation:

Poles 2 O 5 O
| |
| |
flip/ O O
press / /
|->-----+--------------+
/ /
Throws O 1 3 O 4 O 6 O

When switch is not pressed/flipped:
Pole 2 connects to ...

Yours is way cooler than mine (charismatic showdown) ;)

It may be a long shot, but would you be willing to wire your P1
controller so you use all pins on the P2 connector, but use pin 6 from the
p1 connector? Can you now use the P2-connector as if it was P1?

Thanx in advance, Jaco Sloof

Come on you guys,

Is there really nobody willing to just stick a voltmeter between p1 pin 6 and p2 pin 6, and mentioning that it sais 0 Ohms or not?

How long does it take? 10 Seconds?

(bumping for not being answered yet)

I mean, if this works out, I just gave people making a portable the chance ...

I think it would be cool to have to have the laptop in the game.

Like, when you get near it and click it, you could save your game (like in Vice City, the disk icon)

Wow, thats a nice catch!

Hardware NSF-Player and all..

Do I sense something ileggal here?

NOTE: CopyNES does *NOT* allow you to "play back" games. It is more of a tool to dump carts, reverse engineer carts not emulated/dumped, and things like that. With a RAM cart it can be used to run some ...

Q 4 peeps who are building a ps1p

Hi people,

Here's the thing:
I found out a way to switch the joystick connections around from P1/P2 on a regular ps1 ("Big Grey"), and I was wondering if someone could verify that the joystick connections are routed likewise on a PSOne ("Small White").

How I found it is that on a Big Grey, the ...

Re: Majin64.. moving along nicely

(btw, after spending all that time trying to figure it out.. my throat started to burn.. are the fumes toxic?)

Oh man, look out with solder. Story time:

The guy from which I buy most of my electronic components was doing a project. He took a break, but forgets to turn off his soldering iron. The ...
