Well, Jeroen, the best way to test your theory would be to find a bug that occurs in the GCN version and see if the same thing happens in the Virtual Console version. It's a very real possibility that they are indeed one in the same.

XBOX 360 has Dual processors with 3 cores
PS3 has THREE cell processors with 7 cores

You're quite off. Xenon has 3 cores at 3.2GHz, each with two hardware threads. Cell has only one main core at 3.2GHz with seven much less powerful accompanying miniature cores. (Cell's main core is actually ...

A while ago Nintendo released a picture of a attachment for the Wii Remote that resembled the Gamecube control, because of the Wii Remotes lukewarm reception at E3.

Ohoho, so much misinformation here. First of all, this was a mockup made by IGN after Nintendo had confirmed the existence of a ...

Excellent design, I love it. One little nitpick: You'll probably want to make a cut for the ventilation on the side of the unit. Highlighted here:

I believe - but can't confirm - that PS3 Linux distros won't be able to put the RSX (video card) to good use. I think even Doom requires a good framebuffer...

Me likey. Quite a lot, in fact.

However, a little constructive criticism: First, you'll want to be able to plug in GCN controllers. So you could cut a hole in the side (and remove the GCN port flaps). Also, more of an aesthetic problem than a functional problem: The Wii, from disc slot to ports, is ...

Totokan: The Lazer Tag idea is genius! I'm gonna go take mine apart right now. Also, FYI: TRU @ Times Square sells their weekly shipments on Sunday (at least, they have for the past few weeks).

Making "glassy" buttons (eg 360 buttons, Wii's A)

A little pet project I intend to do now that I have a Wii is to "Wii-ify" my old GCN controllers so they blend in a bit more. Just a repaint, basically. But I'd like to make the buttons transparent and "glassy." So. Any ideas on what material I could use for it?

One problem I have with the idea of putting the IR LEDs in the middle (vertically): The Wii only has presets for above and below the TV. So pointing at the middle, were you to have the LEDs there, would register as just the top or bottom, depending on what position setting you have it on.

It'd be ...

I tried it with the candles. Even with the flames 2.5 inches apart, I could only get around 15 inches close to the screen.

The candles probably aren't the best test case. Hmmm.... How about some supremely ghetto h4xoring? Find two mirrors...

Concerning the Wii not functioning well at close distances: I have a theory. If somebody were to remove a few inches from the Sensor Bar (or make a shorter, home-made bar), it should work at a closer distance. Why? It'll trick the system into thinking the Wiimote is farther away from the console ...

Harsh, could you give me an idea as to how hot it runs? Like, if you touched the CPU with your fingers, would you get burnt?
