Shoulder button access controller

Here is another custom controller I’ve done up. The idea requested by the customer was to make the shoulder buttons easier to get at, so I’ve replicated them on the front. Sadly, this calls for the removal of the rumble motors, although of course according to Sony cira 2006 “that’s a last-gen feature anyway”.

Need a mod for a specific purpose? Contact me, that’s what I do!

  1. I’m a bit confused as to how one uses this controller properly. Are those relocated shoulder buttons meant to be accessed with your thumbs?

  2. I don’t know what the internals of the PS controller look like (as opposed to the Xbox gamepad, which I know quite well), but if the shoulder buttons can be moved to the grips, then couldn’t the rumble motors be relocated to the shoulders? Possibly with some extra material to cover them if they stick out of the housing.

  3. Maybe, just maybe, this was modded to fit someone with no thumbs, or someone with some kind of disability.
If thats the case, i think he/she will do better with no rumble at all, don’t you think?

  4. This seems counter productive. the shoulder buttons you could reach without taking your thumbs off the sticks (unlike the d-pad and shape buttons), and now you can’t.

yes, yes, i know. no thumbs. though it seems like that would’ve been mentioned if that was the reason this controller was made.

  5. For those of you wondering what this is for, the customer requested this mod to better help them play games. Specifically why I’m not sure, but I just did what was requested.

  6. I think lack of thumbs is about the last reason I ca. Think of for a mod like this. An extra pair if thumbs maybe.
