This is very impressive, far better than what I could do. If I tried it I would eventually get the electronics working, but an impressive case (or even case) would never be as my mechanical engineering is pretty crap. Keep working on such projects. My site has a few things I'm working on and stuff that's finished.

As an electronics hobbyist I would have a hard time selling something that neat, especially after putting that much work into it. I would probably have to play with it for many years and get lots of use out of it before I could part with it.

Ben, I've just stumbled upon your site, and I must say that your Atari 800 laptop project is nothing short of amazing! I'm very impressed with your work! I've searched your site looking for a bio or something that explains a little more about yourself, as I'm interested in hearing more about you and how you got into this "hobby". Feel free to email me if you like. A few years ago I read "Hacking the XBox" and was interested in messing around with that, but never got around to it. I've also wanted to do some projects with some old computers/consoles I have laying around (Apple IIe/IIc/IIgs, Sega Gamegear, old 486's/386's, etc.), but it seems like daily life and my other hobbies (ATV's/Motocross) keep me from it. Not to mention I have very limited programming/fabrication/electronics experience and skills.....

I'd love to be able to tinker around and do the kind of stuff that you have done, but unfortunately I have neither the skills nor time at this point in my life - but someday I will. By then, 64-bit Duo-core Intel processors will probably be equivenlant to the C6502 8-bit CPU in the C64! Thanks for the great website and really cool projects!
